My name is Sherry and I am Team Captain for Guiding Light. I am also on the planning committee for the
Brady's Run Relay. I become involved with the American Cancer Society after my mother lost her battle with cancer on
September 27, 2001. My good friend, Cindy, who also lost her mother, introduced me to the Relay For Life soon after.
It was a great way to feel as though your are doing something to fight this horrible disease. Though I have to say,
when she said "Relay" my initial thought was "running, I am not running in a race! I would be sure to lose!" I
soon found out that it doesn't involve running at all! It's almost like a big party where people happen to take turns
walking around the track. Anyway, I joined Cindys team for 2 years to get the feel of Relay and decided that I wanted
to do more so I formed my own team and joined the committee.
